What is bully intelligence?

In 2021, I wrote the book Outwit the Workplace Bully: 8 Steps You Need to Know to Reclaim Your Career, Confidence, and Sanity. The book was designed to help targets of workplace bullying understand and heal from their experience.

As I researched the book, I uncovered behaviors, signs, and patterns that I believe help identify bullies and mitigate some of the damage they cause. In other words, Bully Intelligence is the individual’s ability to recognize the signs of workplace bullying and apply that knowledge to protect themselves or others.

Bully Intelligence consists of:

  • Understanding who is typically targeted
  • Recognizing the four types of bullying behaviors
  • Understanding the stages of targeting
  • Understanding the goal of the bully
  • Recognizing the signs of the covert aggressor (the Deceiver)
  • Recognizing the roles that Helpers and Bystanders play in assisting the bully
  • Understanding how emotions are used against the target

In this course, you will build your Bully Intelligence by understanding the tactics that bullies use to target others and disrupt the workplace.

I've included a handout regarding Bully Intelligence to provide you with a reference after the course. Feel free to download the handout now.

In the next lesson, you will learn more about the impacts bullying has on both the organization and employees.
